This Year's Model Updates:

In an attempt to revive Monte Carlo's performance image, Chevrolet adds a supercharged SS version for 2004. The LS gets new 17-inch aluminum wheels, and there are a couple new appearance packages, Sport and Winner's Circle, available on the LS and non-supercharged SS.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong acceleration with supercharged V6.
Cons:
  • Mediocre performance on non-supercharged models, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

  • Nice car - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

I now have 13,000 miles on the Monte Carlo. So far the car could not have given me any less trouble. When I first bought the car I had a number of people comment on how much they liked the color. It is the metalic blue. I have had people ride in the rear seat and theyve told me they found it quite comfortable. Its nice to have the rear seat back fold down, but Ive noticed that anything with much bulk will have a tough time fitting in the trunk. Ive read other reviews commenting on the lack of a light in the glove compartment and must agree that Chevy shouldnt have cheaped out on that. Its a pain to look in there in the dark. Overall Im very satisfied with the car and dont regret buying it.

I was skeptical at first. Now Im a believer! This ride has juice! A pleasure to drive, instant acceleration and great handling. Great fit-n- finish. A real solid ride. Turns heads everywhere we go. Insurance is higher than my SUV. I like it so much that I park it at the farthest point in the parking lot. • Love my car! Buying a second one soon - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

My hubby and I love the MonteCarlo SS so much that we are buying a second one (the supercharged model) in a month. The only complaint that I have on my car is the styling of the wheels. They are too bland! Otherwise, I have no complaints. Oh, and its a 2003 that I bought in Oct. 2002. It has 15,500 miles.

I have little to no problem with my Dale Jr. Monte Carlo SS for the last 2 1/2 years.

  • Phew... just rolled over 275,000 original miles! - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

This car has been amazing. Definitely recommend it to any new avid car collector. The engine reliability and longevity is well worth every penny. I do not reccomend this car if you have a car seat for baby/child as its very cumbersome to retract the front seat to settle in the kids.

  • incredible car bargain - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

This car is everything you could ask for. The styling is the best since the 60s and the performance is unbelievable. It has all the acceleration you could want and will get 32 mpg on the highway using Amoco Super Premium Gas(45 miles to the tank more than it will get on ANY OTHER SUPER PREMIUM GAS)

My wife has never let me forget about someone rear-ending me (actually a hit and run)and totalling her 1994 Cavalier Z-24. We ended up "replacing" it with a loaded 2000 LeSabre a couple of years ago. Both cars were great, but so far our Monte Carlo SS could not be a more perfect fit and compromise of both cars. Black leather on black is really cool and has already gotten lots of compliments from several after only a few days. The creature comforts are similar to a luxury car, yet the sporty features make it extremely fun to drive. The gas mileage is very respectable @ 28ish mpg! I hadnt initially pursued one with a supercharger, but Im glad I found one. Very smooth/fun!

  • On my second one! - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

This is my second Monte Carlo SS! I purchased a 2000 and had zero issues with it. I liked it so well that I purchased a 2004. Im a sales rep and put many miles on a car. It drives and rides just like my uncles Cadillac Eldorado! I suspect that it sits on the same platform. Ive seen pics of the 2006 and think its awesome...Im making plans to get it as soon as it hits the market.
